Museum Practice
My professional practice is centred on the management, preservation, interpretation and valorisation of Moroccan museum collections, with a particular focus on carpets and textiles as material culture. As a museum conservator, my work brings together collection management, conservation, exhibition development, museography, research and public engagement.
My practice considers the museum not only as a space for preserving objects, but also as a place for producing knowledge, transmitting heritage and creating connections between collections, communities and contemporary audiences.
My work involves the study, documentation, inventory, classification, handling, storage and preventive conservation of Moroccan carpets and textiles. Particular attention is given to the material, technical, regional and historical characteristics of objects, as well as to the documentation of their provenance and museum history.

I participate in the conception, development and implementation of permanent and temporary exhibitions, from the selection and interpretation of objects to their spatial presentation and mediation.
My approach seeks to connect objects, narratives, techniques, regions and communities, while making Moroccan textile heritage accessible to different audiences.

The preservation of carpets and textiles is a central component of my museum practice. My work addresses both preventive conservation and the development of appropriate conditions for the long-term preservation of textile collections.
This includes condition assessment, environmental monitoring, pest management, storage improvement, handling procedures and collaboration with conservation specialists.
I have also developed the concept of a Centre National de Conservation et de Restauration des Tapis et Textiles (CNCRTT), conceived as a national centre for expertise, conservation, restoration, training and research concerning Moroccan textile collections.

My professional practice also extends to international projects, institutional partnerships and professional networks dedicated to the preservation, interpretation and international valorisation of Moroccan cultural heritage. These activities provide opportunities for professional exchange, international exhibitions, research collaboration, capacity building and the sharing of expertise in museum and heritage practice.
ICOM Costume Committee — Marrakech Study Tour

Coordinator & Organiser
Coordination and organisation of the ICOM Costume Committee study tour in Marrakech, dedicated to Moroccan textiles and dress. The programme provided an opportunity to introduce international museum professionals to the richness and diversity of Moroccan textile heritage while facilitating professional exchange around collections, conservation, interpretation and museum practice.
International Exhibitions & Cultural Exchange
Participation in international exhibition projects presenting Moroccan carpets, textiles and material heritage to audiences beyond Morocco, contributing to intercultural dialogue and the circulation of museum collections.
Professional Training & Capacity Building
Participation in international training programmes and professional exchanges focused on museum practice, collections care, and the conservation and restoration of carpets and textiles.
International Museum & Heritage Networks
Active engagement with international professional organisations and heritage networks, including ICOM, ICCROM and UNESCO, contributing to professional exchange and discussions concerning museums, collections, conservation and cultural heritage.
Research & Knowledge Exchange
Participation in international conferences, seminars and scholarly programmes addressing Moroccan carpets and textiles, material culture, museum collections and heritage valorisation.
