My research focuses on the study of heritage, museum collections and material culture, with a particular interest in Moroccan textile heritage, carpets, and the processes through which objects become museum collections.
Combining historical, archaeological and museological approaches, my work examines the relationship between objects, societies and institutions. It explores how traditional productions are collected, documented, interpreted and presented within museums.
My research is situated at the intersection of history, museology, anthropology of objects and heritage studies, with particular attention to Moroccan collections and their representations.

My doctoral dissertation, Public Carpet Collections in Morocco: History, Presentation, Gendered Labour and Museum Valorisation, from the French Protectorate (1912–1956) to the Creation of the Fondation Nationale des Musées (2011), examines the formation, transformation, and museum presentation of Morocco’s public carpet collections from the colonial period to the establishment of the Fondation Nationale des Musées.
My research traces how Moroccan carpets moved from artisanal production and everyday use into institutional collections, focusing on collecting practices, classification systems, museum displays, conservation, and heritage interpretation. Particular attention is given to carpets and textiles as material culture, and to the role of women and gendered labour in their production and representation.
The dissertation argues that the history of Moroccan carpet collections is also a history of knowledge production. By examining colonial and postcolonial collecting and museum practices, it explores how institutions have shaped the ways Moroccan carpets are classified, interpreted, preserved, and presented as cultural heritage.

This research project analyses the historical transformation of the Moroccan carpet from an object of artisanal production into a museum and heritage object.
